TSHILILO

I got to my bedroom and found Thembuluwo waiting for me in bed
Thembu:” babe what’s wrong? You don’t look fine” I closed the door and stood against it
Me:” I might be coming up with a flu or something, I am just feeling weird” he got out of bed and walked to me
Thembu:” you don’t think that maybe you are pregnant? I wouldn’t mind having another boy…in fact I want another boy” I gave him my most irritated look
Me:” we just started having sex yesterday and you are already talking about having a baby? Do I look like a baby making machine to you?”
Thembu:” I am sorry babe I was just joking...come” he hugged me
Me:” I am sorry too…I am just…I just want to rest Thembu”
Thembu:” okay nana…come and rest” we walked to bed and we got in together…he wrapped his hand around me as I sleep.
I couldn’t fall asleep. I was trying to think of a plan. The possibility of some people out there gunning for us angered me. That’s the thing; it didn’t scare me like it was supposed to…it was just upsetting me. I wanted to do something to save everyone but I didn’t know what. I was deep in thought when it hit me…Eugene. He owed us one. I quickly got out of bed and switched on the light. I knew that Thembu was going to ask questions because he was still up but I didn’t care about that now. I had to try and save the whole family. I didn’t care if he was going to be angry…better he be angry at me than losing him. I had to save our babies…Kate meant business and even though I had no idea who was cheering behind her, it must be someone powerful and what they had planned must be something big and well thought of. She managed to worm her away to Ndivhuwo’s life and then to the rest of us…so she was good
Thembu:” babe what’s wrong?”
Me:” I have to leave” Thembuluwo looked at me with his eyes wide open
Thembu:” leave?” I went to our built in wardrobe and took out a jean and one of Thembu’s t shirt
Me:” yeah I have to try and save this family Thembu…I am not just going to sleep and pretend like everything is okay…I can’t just watch as we all die” I said that taking off my Pjs and wearing a jean. Thembuluwo got out of bed and stood next to me…he was confused and that’s the reaction I expected…this was confusing for me too, I couldn’t even believe that I was about to do what I was going to do but I knew that it needed to be done.
Thembu:” my love what are you talking about?” I knew he wasn’t going to believe me but I might as well tell him the truth and then leave. He’d be angry and think that I still want Ndivhuwo but I honestly didn’t care…all I wanted was to save the family…sooner or later he was going to understand
Me:” it’s Ndivhuwo’s Kate. She is not some sweet Doctor you all think she is. She is related to Svig and Diesel. She told me so herself while in the bathroom. She’s here to gather as many info about us as she possibly can Thembu…she wants to bring us down” I said that and wore his t shirt and then took out some sneakers. Thembuluwo put his hands on his hips and sighed…well I knew what all that meant
Thembu:” so my suspicions were right? You are jealous about this Kate chick? You don’t want him to move on? Tshililo that’s pathetic, you are pathetic” he was shouting at me… well, I wore my sneakers like a boss…I was prepared to hear this from him so it didn’t hurt me one bit. I knew the truth about why I was acting this why and I couldn’t blame Thembu for thinking what he was thinking…I sounded crazy and if Kate didn’t tell me all this herself then I wasn’t gonna believe it if anyone said anything to me
Thembu:” so this is it? You still love him? What’s really pathetic here is this story that you are coming up with. So you had to come up with some lame story to make us get rid of the girl?”
Me:” I know you won’t believe me Thembu and I don’t expect you to but one day you’ll thank me for this” I finished with my sneakers and took my car key and walked out of the door. Thembuluwo followed me
Thembu:” Nana where are you going? Tshililo don’t leave…my love don’t do this”
Me:” I have to”
Thembu:” if you walk out of the door then we are done Tshililo, don’t ever come back. You need to get over him if you want us to work so walk out of that door and we are done” I turned around and looked at him…I was seriously enraged now
Me:” done? We don’t get to be done anymore Thembu...we’ve way past the stage of breaking up and all that lame s*** that normal people do because we are not normal anymore so I am leaving because ya’ll not gonna listen to me and when I’ve got the help I need I will come back to this house and we will continue loving each other. You proposed to me again and got me this” I showed him the ring
Me:” so you don’t get to tell me that we are done…never” I said that and turned around and proceed to walk down the stairs…Thembuluwo followed me
Thembu:” what’s gotten to you?” I ignored him and proceeded to walk
Thembu:” right now I am not sure if you are losing it or what? Kate can’t be all those things so stop the bulls*** and come back to the house. I promise you Tshililo if you ruin his relationship and go back to him I will kill you both” I turned around and looked at him again
Me:” you won’t have to do that because I am your wife and I am not getting back with anyone. If I don’t do this we all die” Thembu quickly grabbed me by my neck and pinned me against the wall
Thembu:” is this you choosing him? You’ve been making me a fool all this time huh? You love him more?” I tried to remove his hands from my neck but I failed
Me:” so what? You’re just gonna go all daddy on me? You’re gonna do what your father used to do to your mom is that it? You’re gonna beat me up? Go ahead and do it” I pulled my little brave face…he quickly let go of me and his face fell. I knew I’ve hurt him but better that then having all of us dying
Me:” I love you Thembuluwo…just you. I don’t want him I only want you. I have to do this for both of us” I said that and walked to the garage and got inside my car…Thembuluwo just looked at me with nothing but shock. I pressed the remote and opened the door and drove out of the garage…I opened the gate and drove out of the house too. I had to go to Cape Town…Eugene was my only solution and I couldn’t sleep and wait until tomorrow…I had to do this now…God knows how long we have until Kate strikes. She must be close to it and that’s why she even told me. I took out my phone and called Andani…she picked up after a while
Andi:” hello” she said in her sleepy voice
Me:” Andani”
Andi:” Tshililo its after mid night what’s going on?”
Me:” I need Eugene’s help with something so please sms me the address to your house. I am driving to Cape Town as we speak”
Andi:” uhm okay, I will do that now” I dropped the call and stepped on the accelerator and drove to Cape Town

I got to Cape Town just after seven in the morning. i drove to the address that Andani gave me. I got to the gate and pressed the button and then waited. Wow, they had a beautiful home. They opened the gate for me and I drove in. I parked my car at the drive way and looked around and then walked to the door. I wanted to stay longer outside and admire the garden and the house itself but time was not on my side so I got to the door and knocked. The door opened after several seconds and I was greeted by Andani’s smile
Andi:” hey Tshili” she said that and hugged me
Me:” hi” I broke the hug and looked at her
Andi:” you look really tired…your eyes are red”
Me:” I didn’t sleep…anyway this is an emergency where is Eugene?”
Andi:” I will go g-“
Gee:” I am here” he said that walking down the stairs. He was in shorts and a vest and some sandals. Even though I was in a bad state, I was able to admire how cute Eugene looked…he looked kinda yummy but hey he had nothing on my Thembu or maybe Ndivhuwo
Andi:”oww there he is” she closed the door and walked to Eugene
Gee:” you don’t look too good what’s wrong?”
Me:” I don’t know if you guys are transparent about everything but I want to discuss business with you Eugene…Andi can stay if that’s okay with you”
Eugene:” no I rather she don’t get involved…come to my study”
Andi:” But I-“
Eugene:” don’t even start please” he said that and dismissed her and walked away
Gee:” follow me Tshili” I followed him to the study. We got there and he closed the door. He sat on the table and folded his hands on his chest and crossed his legs and looked at me
Gee:” what’s going on?”
Me:” you owe us one right?”
Gee:” yeah”
Me:” then you need to help me”
Gee:” but why are you here? Shouldn’t it be your husband or his brothers maybe?”
Me:” just listen to me first okay?”
Gee:” okay I’m listening” I started pacing
Me:” before we found out that Ndivhuwo was our family…I dated him. It was during the time when Thembu was arrested so we dated for a while…afterThembu came back I left Ndivhuwo and went back to my husband. Well it didn’t work out with Thembu and we divorced and I wen-“
Gee:” wow” he smirked
Tshili:” don’t do that…this is not something to laugh about Eugene…you don’t get to be sarcastic right now or shocked…save being shocked for when I am already out of here”
Gee:” okay” he kept a straight face
Me:” so after the divorce I went back to Ndivhuwo and we dated for a while. We even left the country and that’s when I realised that my heart was with Thembu so I left Ndivhuwo and Thembu and I got back together until now…we found out that Ndivhuwo was Thembu’s brother after we got back together so it’s a messed up situation and Ndivhuwo still loves me to this day. So here is the problem. Ndivhuwo finally met a girl and everyone is happy about it because at least now there won’t be any awkwardness between him and Thembu but the girl is not legit”
Gee:” what do you mean she is not legit”
Me:” she wants to bring us all down…to avenge us for Svig and Diesel’s death…none of the family members knows about this except for me…she admitted it to me knowing fully well that no one will believe me. Ndivhuwo thinks I am being a jealous ex-girlfriend because he finally moved on and Thembu thinks I am being jealous because I still want Ndivhuwo back and I don’t want to see him with anyone because I love him. So this girl is already in my family and she promised to take us all out Eugene…I need to do something….please let’s do something” Eugene looked at me for a while as if he was thinking
Gee:” why did she tell you this?”
Me:” she said she wants to torture me” he looked at me for a while
Me:” tell me you believe me. I am not lying. I love Thembuluwo and I am over Ndivhuwo, I wouldn’t do this just so that he can remain single...i want him to be happy too”
Eugene:” I believe you” I finally relaxed and sighed
Me:’ you do?”
Gee:” yeah I do and I also understand why she told you this”
Me:” why?”
Eugene:”because she wants you to do this…to do what you just did now. She wants you to try making up plans and to call up your allies so that she may know who else you can rely on other than your husband and his family” oww my God I never thought of that
Gee:” you played right into her hands”
Me:” I didn’t think of that”
Gee:” this is her way of wanting you to strike while she waits for you”
Me:’ so what do we do?”
Gee:” you give me as much info about this girl as you can and I will call my boys right away so that they may look her up. We need to have her followed and hack into her cell phone and everything. If what you are saying is true then this girl is cancer that’s gonna slowly destroy your family”
Me:” oww my God”
Gee:” you should go back home this evening though or tomorrow morning, I don’t want you staying here for too long just incase she is watching you, she needs to know that you are back in George and you are not planning anything. I will do the rest this side” I covered my face with my hands and breathed
Me:” thank you…Eugene thank you so much” I went to him and hugged him
Gee:” it’s my pleasure” he said in a calm voice. He slowly broke the hug
Gee:” I will keep you safe” he whispered as he slowly break the embrace and before I could try to stop it his lips were on mine…like I don’t understand how it happened and for few seconds I enjoyed the moment and kissed him back but I finally realised what just happened and I quickly pushed him away and looked at him in horror
Me:” No! Eugene don’t ever do that…we can’t do this” I said that and roughly wiped off my mouth
Gee:” I am so sorry…I have no idea how it happened…f*** Tshililo I am so sorry” he said that looking at me with his hands covering his face. I just looked at him and said nothing
Gee:” you won’t tell Andani will you? I don’t usually do this, in fact I have never done this…please forgive me…nobody can know about this…especially your family”
Me:” I am not stupid Eugene…I won’t say a word…it just…it can’t happen again” I can’t believe he kissed me right after I told him about my shebang with the two brothers…was I not supposed to appearas a disgusting piece of meat for what I had done with Thembu and Ndivhuwo?
Gee:” it will never happen again I promise” I was curious though…did he have feelings for me or the kiss was just a mistake? Is there such a thing as a mistake kiss anyway?
Me:” what now?” I said looking at him while standing from a distance
Gee:” you give me what you know about the girl and you will spend the day with Andi while I work on this” I felt bad…like really bad for the kiss. Andani didn’t deserve this
Me:” okay” I walked to the door and before I could reach for the lock he called out my name
Eugene:” Tshililo?”
Me:” yes”
Eugene:” I admire your strength as a woman…it’s kinda what any man living this life need…the vhadaus scored a gold with you” I looked at him for a while
Me:” don’t ever said that to me ever again…I love Andani and I love my husband …a little suspicion about me and you is all it will take for them to wipe you off” he smiled
Eugene:” not that I want you or anything but they don’t scare me…but hey…I love Andani and like you said…you love your husband” I shook my head and walked out of the office.

TSHILILO

I walked back to the kitchen and I found Andani preparing something to eat
Andi:” You’re done already?” I nodded
Me:” yeah”
Andi:” you’re okay now?”
Me:” I will be” I said giving her a reassuring smile. I was tempted to feel guilty about the kiss but hey it meant absolutely nothing and I was sure Eugene didn’t really mean it so I snapped out of it
Me:” let me give Thembu a call okay?” I said with a smile
Andi:” cool” I walked out of the house and called Thembuluwo
Thembu:” what!” okay he was still angry
Me:” I know I’ve been gone for hours and I haven’t said any-“
Thembu:” what do you want?”
Me:” I am in Cape Town…with Andani and Eugene. I just had a meeting with Eugene about Katlego and he is willing to help”
Thembu:” you’re still on that s***?”
Me:” Thembuluwo I am not going crazy”
Thembu:” don’t ever come back to my house” he dropped the call. I looked at my phone and shook my head and walked back to the house. At least I told him where I was. I went back to the kitchen where Andani was.

THEMBULUWO

It was already past 8 in the morning and Tshililo’s call really made me angry. Was she so hell bent on wanting Ndivhuwo to leave Kate so much so that she drove all the way to Cape Town for it? I finally got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I then walked down and found Xolani playing with his kid and Zoleka was just sitting on the sofa watching them
Me:” morning guys” I said that and threw myself on the couch
Zoli:” what’s wrong?”
Me:” what do you mean?”
X:” you look like you’ve been hit by a bus bruh” I shook my head
Me:” I’m cool”
Xoli:” where is Tshili?”
Me:” she has some business to take care of…you guys are stuck with me today” I faked a smile. My head was kinda spinning. I also couldn’t stop thinking about what Xolani told me after visiting Ndivhuwo yesterday…I mean the s*** about Jug and Daddy…if these guys were really coming for us then we needed to show a united front as a family but Tshililo was hell bent on making sure that it doesn’t happen, she was deliberately trying to get me and Ndivhuwo to fight over her again
Me:” where is Ndivhuwo?” I said with my most irritated voice
Zoli:” gone…Kate has a double shift today so they left early”
Me:” ow owk” so Ndivhuwo was going to be alone the whole day then…could he go to her in Cape Town? Was she even in Cape Town? Yerrr

TSHILILO

Andi:” do you mind telling me what is going on? You seem really worried and out of it when you walked in here” I smiled
Me:” don’t tell Eugene that I told you anything okay?”
Andi:” shoot”
Me:” you remember the girl that Ndivhuwo brought home the other night and we had breakfast with her?” she nodded
Andi:” the skinny one?”
Me:” yeah she is not who she says she is…she is family with one of our old enemies…the enemies we killed and betrayed…so she is back for revenge obviously and I don’t think she is alone in it so I told Ndivhuwo about it and given our history he didn’t believe me…he thinks that I am just jealous and that I don’t want him to move on”
Andi:” oww my God”
Me: “Thembu is giving me the same reaction too. He thinks I want Ndivhuwo back. So I came here to get Eugene to look into that girl so that he may help us beat her at her own game. He said he will start working on it right away” Andani looked at me for a long while
Me:” what?”
Andi:” do you ever feel like quitting? Or leave him and his family and just go and start somewhere with your son maybe? Don’t you miss normality?” I looked at her and blinked and then smiled
Me:” I guess it all depend on the level of love you have for something. Thembuluwo and his family are my real family. I love them…all of them. I really do love Thembuluwo and I love Ndivhuwo too so I don’t see myself deserting them…this is where I wanna die…with them. It’s stressful when things like these happens but hey it’s my turn to save them like they have done me a thousand times before. As for missing something normal…well they are what normal is to me. Being a Mudau is as normal as my life gets. Whether we have guns or not…I am in love” she smiled
Andi:” that’s really deep”
Me:” I am sure you can do the same for Eugene” she blushed
Andi:” yeah I guess so…I just don’t think I have it me though…the calculating and the fast thinking and the guns…God”
Me:” sometimes you have no choice but to step in but hopefully Eugene won’t end up in messed up situations like we’ve done before and you won’t be forced to be like me”
Andi:” hopefully…I really love him Tshili and that’s why I stayed even after he told me some deep stuff about himself, he is everything to me” I smiled at her
Me:” that’s sweet”

So I spent the whole afternoon with Andani. Eugene called me into the study in the evening telling me that they managed to gather something on Katherine.
Me:” so you say you found something?” I said while sitting on the chair. Eugene was standing against the wall
Eugene:” yeah…you were right” God I felt my stomach immediately went into knots. I know what Katherine told me but somehow I wanted it not to be true so that we may know that the family was safe but this only confirms that we had a war coming
Me:” what did you find out?” as much as I didn’t want to hear about it I knew I had to. I had to be strong and face this like a boss
Eugene:” so this girl was adopted from age 3 and she got raised by a new family. That’s the parents that everyone knows and those are the parents registered at home affairs as her parents but her biological parents also kept very minimal visits to the girl…her real father only visited for a couple of years when she was young and he stopped but then…her brother kept visiting and the visits only stopped about 2 years ago…Svig was her brother and Diesel was her father” owww nooo she was telling the truth…I got up and put my hands on my hips
Me:” how did you find out all that?” he smiled
Eugene:” I am resourceful Tshili...there are unfriendly ways to make people talk and I kinda used them” so his guys tortured some people to get the truth huh?
Me:” okay uhm so did you manage to find out who she is working with? She can’t be alone” I stood in the middle of the room and looked at him
Eugene:” her father’s friend and business partner…Daddy”
Me:” daddy?” I gave him a questioning look
Me:” that’s the guy’s name. I managed to trace a regular cellphone number that’s been contacting her and it’s him” Oww God
Me:” how dangerous is this daddy?” I said not wanting to hear it
Eugene:” he is experienced” God I started panicking and put my hands on my head and started pacing
Eugene:” another thing is that this Daddy clown has been meeting up with Jug…Jug is the guy I was trying to revenge” oww nooo this is way too messed up…I stood on my tracks and looked at him
Me:” so they are…” I shook my head as I thought about the danger we were on
Eugene:” they are ganging up against us”
Me:” Eugene you need to talk to them, you need to talk to Thembu and his brothers about this…they’ll believe you please…we need to start preparing ourselves for this because this is war…God we need to get ready for this. Owww no my kids…my babies are at home all unprotected because Xolani is in George…God dammit noooooooooo!!” I let out a very loud scream and Eugene just looked at me in shock. I put my one hand on my stomach and bent forward a little and put my one hand on the wall and tried to breathe. Andani opened the door and looked at me
Andani:” what’s wrong?”
Me:” we are all gonna die…that’s what’s wrong” I said that and saw a picture of my sons being forcefully taken from their home, it hurt like hell. It was just an imagination but it was so damn painful. Andani looked from me to Eugene
Andani:” cupcake what is she talking about?”
Eugene:” we might be going to war sooner than we all expected babe but you have nothing to worry about I promise”
Me:” I have to go”
Andani:” is it even safe for you to drive back?”
Me:” I don’t know Andani all I know is that my babies are unprotected back home in Venda…I need to go back to Tshikhudini…I have to drive back home” Eugene looked at me with nothing but complete anguish
Eugene:” you are not serious”
Me:” those are my kids…the idiots back at home do not believe a word coming through my mouth. They are all grown ass men and they can try to protect themselves when the going gets tough but my kids can’t do s***” I said that heading for the door and walking out. Andani and Eugene followed me
Eugene:” we are coming with you” I shook my head and turned around and face them
Me:” no you can’t do that guys…you need to be here and check what’s happening Eugene…if you follow me to Venda then we will miss out on what is going on plus Andani is pregnant…she can’t be going up and down like that. Please keep her safe…you can’t lose this baby, I know the pain of it all and i…well I don’t wanna see you guys suffer like that”
Andi:” I think Tshililo has a point….except…except that my son is-“
Eugene:” don’t worry about him…he is protected”
Andi:” can’t you get some of your guys to protect Tshili’s family too?”
Eugene:” yeah I can do that”
Me:” but I still have to be there, I need to be there for my kids”
Andi:” you should leave…just….be careful out there Tshililo please” I gave them a fake smile and went to Andani for a hug
Me:” thank you” we broke the hug and I looked at Eugene and just nodded, I couldn’t hug him…well I didn’t want to
Me:” thank you guys for everything”
Andi:” it’s our pleasure”

I got out of the house and got in my car and drove off. I called Thembuluwo while on my way
Thembu:” what now?”
Me:” have Eugene called you yet?”
Thembu:” no…why?” dammit
Me:” I was right…Kate is Svig’s sister and Diesel was her father…they got her adopted in order to keep her safe Thembu…apparently she is working with some guy named Daddy and they are coming for us so I am on my way to Venda as we speak. With Xolani in George then our kids are vulnerable right now…they are not protected” I said with tears in my eyes
Thembu:” so you are saying that Eugene confirmed all this?”
Me:” yeah he did…call him and he’ll tell you everything” I dropped the call and called Ndivhuwo…my hands were even shaking. As strong as I was trying to be…I was scared
Ndivhuwo:” hello”
Me:” hey where are you?”
Ndiv:” my hotel room”
Me:” with Kate?”
Ndiv:” nahh she is working late why?”
Me:” I was right Ndivhuwo…I was with Eugene the whole day today and he got something on Kate…well its more than something…that girl is working with someone named Daddy”
Ndiv:” nahh that’s crazy”
Me:” it’s not”
Ndiv:” you mean to tell me that Eugene can confirm this? He has proof?”
Me:” he do”
Ndiv:” but I didn’t find anything on her” he yelled
Me:” because you didn’t look hard enough, you just didn’t want to find anything, you wanted her to be perfect”
Ndiv:” Noooo Tshililo you mean she’s been pla-“ he went quiet
Me:” I am so sorry”
Ndiv:” I need to find this out myself…God damn it if it’s true then I will skin that girl alive and eat her skin while she watch I am telling you”
Me:” I am really sorry” he hung up on me. I took a sigh of relief realising that at least now they were going to believe me. I went to the garage to get my car fuelled up…I decided to go to the shop to get myself an energy drink after my car had been fuelled up. I got back to my car and was greeted by a tall dark-skinned guy. He took out a gun and showed it to me
Guy:” come with me” I looked at him and then the gun
Me:” and if I say no?” I don’t know where I got the courage to say something like that
Guy:” then I kill you” my phone rang right at that moment…it was in my hand so I checked the caller ID and it was Thembuluwo…I quickly picked up
Me:” they got me” that’s all I managed to say before the guy snatched the phone from my hand and pointed the gun at me in a fashion that only I was able to see the gun…I got inside the car and couldn’t believe that I was again being kidnapped. There were no tears on my face anymore…I couldn’t cry at all but there was something else…a deep excruciating pain of realising that this was the end of us…the end of the Vhadaus…my heart pained for my kids…the thought of them alone gave me a near death experience…I couldn’t stop thinking about these people hurting them.

NDIVHUWO

After the call with Tshililo I went crazy, like literally lost it. I quickly took out my laptop and started checking on Kate again. My whole body was burning…I didn’t want to believe that Kate had been playing me all this time. I felt so stupid and blind for letting something like this to happen. I searched for Kate thoroughly and found the same thing I managed to find out the other day. I then went to her parents and looked them up. I found some medical reports on them…the father was a barren and couldn’t have kids so they adopted kids. I dug deeper and found documentation detailing Kate changing names and surname. I checked her surname before she was adopted and it matched Svig’s…I felt like killing myself for being so stupid. So Tshililo was telling the truth all this time. I tried calling Tshililo but her phone just rang. I tried again but she still didn’t pick up, well I was not going to blame her for ignoring me, I acted like a damn dooshbag. I got out of the hotel and drove to the hospital…God I was so going to enjoy hurting this Kat creature…I was going to enjoy killing her.

Here is the thing, I was angry at her yes but….there was also something else I was feeling, it was pain. I was heartbroken…I kinda liked the girl and for the first time in a long time she helped me forget about Tshililo and I was excited at the idea of a life with her, I was already starting to make plans about us…I felt stupid and played. My heart hurt so much. I parked my car at the parking lot of the hospital when I got there and went to the reception area
Me:” hey uhm can I please see Doctor Katherine Ngwenya” the lady looked at me and smiled
Lady:” I am sorry sir but Doctor Ngwenya is not in today”
Me:” what do you mean by that? She is working double shift” she shook her head
Lady:” she came in this morning saying she had a family emergency so she is off for the whole week” my face fell.
Tshililo was telling the truth the whole time…I hit the desk with my fist and walked out of the door to the parking lot. I got there and started pacing as I calculate my next move…I wanted to cry…Katherine had been playing me all this time…that damn skinny thing had been playing me all this time. Tshililo was right. I thought of all the sex with Kate and how she looked excited about the idea of us together….f*** I’d been stupid…I had to admit though, Kate played this like a damn pro. I took out my phone and called Tshililo again but she still didn’t pick up and I ended up on her voicemail.
Me:” Tshililo I am sorry for not believing you, you’re right. Kate had been playing us, I mean me. Uhm just call me please I am sorry, don’t ignore my calls we need to talk about our next move” I dropped the call and went to my car and got in. I called Kate right away
Kate:” hey” she said in a normal calm voice
Me:” hey momma where are you?” I was trying to sound normal
Kate:” somewhere where you won’t find me”
Me:” huh?”
Kate:” I am not stupid Ndivhu…I know you already know the truth now…I was told that we had to execute the plan sooner than expected…in the mean time you must get ready to die”
Me:” so me and you…that meant nothing to you?”
Kate:” that was all me working…goodbye Ndivhuwo, sex with you had been good but hey this is the end. Don’t even try to track my cellphone number because I am about to destroy it. Just sit there and relax and wait for our next move…you won’t see us coming I promise” I removed the phone from my ear and threw it on the passenger’s seat. I’d been played by a girl…how did I let something like this to happen? How could I be so stupid?

THEMBULUWO

After my second call with Tshililo I started panicking because all she said was that they got her. I called Eugene immediately…he didn’t even take long to answer my call
Gee:” sure”
Me:” Tshililo said you’ve been looking into Kate” I couldn’t greet him. There was no time for that
Gee:” yeah and whatever she told you is true”
Me:” Eugene what are you saying?” there was panic in my voice
Gee:” Kate is Svig’s sister and she came to make you guys pay” yohh I felt my heart aching I gambled with my wife’s life…now they took her
Me:” dammit…f*** f*** f*** they took her” I screamed
Eugene:” what are you talking about?”
Me:” Tshililo…they took her”
Eugene:” how do you know about that? She left here saying that she is going back to Venda to protect the kids”
Me:” she called me telling me about Katlego and then hung up but she called shortly again and told me that they got her and then her phone hung up, Eugene they took my wife” I said while seriously panicking
Eugene:” you need to calm down Thembu…all I know is that Kate has been working with Daddy and possibly Jug but those guys are not in the country yet…meaning that Kate has a small team working with her” God I’ve been so stupid
Me:” I can’t lose her, not again Eugene…I just can’t”
Eugene:” call Ndivhuwo and we can take it from there…I will start tracking her from my side, we will find her Thembuluwo”
Me:” I hope so” and I hung up

Xolani:” what is going on?”
Zoli:” is Tshililo okay?” I was standing in the middle of the lounge with Xolani standing in front of me and Zoleka trying to keep her baby calm while standing right there as well
Me:” I don’t know…she’s been telling the truth about Kate though”
Zoli:” what about Kate?” she put the baby on the floor and paid attention
Xolani:” Thembu talk”
Me:” Kate is Svig’s sister…she is Diesel’s son”
Xolani:” owwww s***”
Zoli:” who is she working with?” I looked at them and breathed
Me:” Daddy and possibly Jug”
Xolani:” f***” he walked around in a circle looking all stressed out
Me:” that’s not even half the story…Tshililo is gone”
Zoli:” define gone”
Me:” they took her…it must be Kate and her people, they took my wife. Can you believe that she told me about this last night and I didn’t believe her? I thought she was just being jealous because Ndivhuwo finally moved on but she was telling the truth bruh”
Zoli:” owww my God Xolani…the family back home…we have to go home…Xolani we need to leave now” Zoleka screamed. Oww my kids
Me:” my boys…ow my kids” I said with my hands on my head
X:” don’t worry about the kids okay? I am booking the next available flight ticket and go back home now…I will make it in time I promise…we will keep them safe, you need to find Tshililo, you should find her Thembu” Xolani immediately took out his phone
Zoli:” uhm let me go prep some food for the baby to eat on the way…what time is the next available flight Xolani?” she shouted while running to the kitchen
X:” tomorrow at 07:15”
Me:” you can’t wait for that long X…you should drive” Zoleka came back to us
Zoli:” yeah we are driving…it’s just before 8 in the evening, we will get there in the early hours of the morning…please take the baby to the car and hook him up on his seat…I am just  gonna get him some food” she ran back to the kitchen
Me;” be safe Xolani” he came to me and held the back of my head and pulled me to him so that our foreheads may collide a little
X:” we’ve done this s*** before…this is nothing new and as hard as it is…we always make it out alive…we will overcome this” I held the back of his head too
Me:” we come a long way X, I love you my brother and if anything happens to me and Tshililo…you gotta take care of my kids” Xolani shook his head
X:” nothing will happen to any of us….we are the Mudaus…the lions…that’s what our surname means so we don’t just die, not now anyway” I smiled
Me:” stay safe”
X:” stay safe” we broke the embrace and shook each other’s hands. I then took Xolani’s girl and walked them to their hired car. I put the baby on her seat at the back…I hooked her up while Xolani started the car. Zoleka came running with two containers and a bottle of milk and one for juice
Zoli:” I didn’t have time to pack any of our stuff so once everything is settled ask Tshililo to keep them safe okay?”
Me:” okay Zoleka, look after my kids, just incase anything happens”
Zoli:” and you’ll take care of ours if anything happens…please find Tshililo” she put everything at the back seat and then got in at the passenger’s front seat
X:” we will talk”
Me:” sure” I waved at them as they drive off. I watched them leave and then took out my phone and was about to call Ndivhuwo when his car drove in. I stood there and waited for him to get out. He finally did and walked to me

Ndiv:” hey”
Me:” hey…where is your girlfriend?”
Ndiv:” she went MIA”
Me:” what? So you don’t know where she is?”
Ndiv:” no, did Tshililo tell you anything about Kate? Damn Thembuluwo she told me all about it last night but I didn’t believe her…Kate was undercover, she is Svig’s sister and she is here for nothing else other than revenge”
Me:” makes the two of us…I thought she was just being jealous”
Ndiv:” same here…she was right all along...we are at war…where is she?”
Me:” you don’t know?” he put his hands on his hips
Ndiv:” know what?”
Me:” they took her” Ndivhuwo looked at me and didn’t move…I wasn’t sure if he was having stroke or what…he went numb for few seconds
Me:” Ndivhuwo” he finally swallowed and blinked
Ndiv:” I need some time alone” he said that and walked inside the house and I followed him
Me:” Ndivhuwo stop being dramatic we need to find her” he said nothing but walked to the direction of his room
Me:” Ndivhuwo”
Ndiv:” Thembuluwo stop the whining, I said I want a moment alone, that’s all I want right now” I grabbed his hand and he turned around and looked at me…he had tears in his eyes…huh? He was crying?
Ndiv:” I said leave me the f*** alone” he snatched his hand from me and then pushed me so hard and I fell. He left me on the floor and went to his room

Ndivhuwo got to his bedroom and started pacing. He took off the t shirt because he was feeling hot…he took off the vest too and just paced. His breathing was heavy and his body hurt…he went and stood with both his hands on the wall and his head bent down looking on at his feet and sobbed for few minutes. He hated himself for trying to move on…the sick treatment he gave Tshililo these past few days haunted him...he hated himself…maybe happiness wasn’t for him, he should just come to terms with the fact that he wasn’t like other people. Being happy wasn’t his cup. His chest hurt so bad…he hated Kate so much so that he couldn’t even imagine what he’ll do to her if he happen to find her. The thought of anyone else touching Tshililo again haunted him…after everything she had suffered she didn’t deserve this. He should have believed her, she tried to warn him but he was too blind. He finally calmed down and then went to take his t shirt from the floor and wore it. He took out two guns from the wardrobe and cleaned his face up and walked out of the room. Thembuluwo was standing by his door

Ndivhuwo walked out of the room and found me waiting by his door
Ndiv:” let’s go find her”
Me:” do you have any idea where she might be?”
Ndiv:” not really but we are about to find out” he said that as we walked through the passage
Me:” let me call Eugene and find out if he has anything”
Ndiv:” let me talk to him” Ndivhuwo took out his phone and called Eugene
Gee:” Ndiv”
Me:” how far are you with Tshililo’s location?”
Gee:” we found her car in some garage and that’s all we have…her phone was inside the car too”
Me:” okay cool…i will get into work in just few minutes and I will find her. Depending on where she is I will let you know…if she is close to you then your team can go rescue her but if she is closer to us then we will deal with it” ‘
Gee:” I will wait for your phone call”
Ndiv:” sure”
Me:” what now?”
Ndiv:” my farm house…I can’t do this using my laptop…we need to go now…the sooner we get there the sooner I start working and the sooner we find her” I took two guns too and we got the complete shock of our lives when we got out of the house and found Kate standing right at the door with an army
Kate:” hey papi” we tried to start shooting but she signalled with her head for her guys to disarm us which they did immediately and then handcuff us and took us to their cars
We were fucked up…this was the end of us…the end of the Vhadaus. Our sins were finally catching up with us.

Chapter 29

Xolani

I stepped on the accelerator the whole drive…we exchanged driving with my wife. We took one of Thembu’s car because the car we had was a rented vehicle. We were going to get the car transported back to George when we got to OR Tambo because that’s where we left our car. We got there and quickly arranged for Thembu’s car to be taken back. We then got inside our car and drove home. We tried calling Thembu and Ndivhuwo the whole drive just to update them that we were still fine and to hear any progress on their side but their cell phones were off. I was really starting to worry but I contained myself because I didn’t want to worry myself too much for nothing…maybe nothing was really wrong. We got home round at about 7 in the morning. We went straight to Tshikhudini at our parent’s house. I can’t even explain the kind of relief I felt when everything and everyone was still in one peace when we got there. I called Thembu and Ndivhuwo again but their phones were still off…I was now really worried, something was off, they can’t keep their phones off for this long when something like this is going on
Dad:” what’s wrong?” my dad said when he walked out of the house. He was on his way to work. I was standing out in the garden with my phone on my hand
Me:” nothing, why do you ask?” I was not even sure whether to tell my dad that something was up, I didn’t want them to panic though so I decided against it
Dad:” Xolani you can talk to me…you came back from George sooner than you said you would and you came straight here…you looked relieved when you found out that we were all okay…should we be worried?” I smiled
Me:” dad you just want something to be up but nothing is really going on”
Dad:” okay if you say so…I am leaving for work”
Me:” sure” my dad got inside the car and drove off. I Decided that the kids won’t go to school today, I wanted to make sure that the situation was stable. I walked to the house and mom had the kids ready for school
Me:’ mama I will take them to school neh? They don’t have to use a school transport for today. I will also go pick them all up and bring them here…I wanna spend some time with them” my mom smiled. Well I was going to take them to my house
Mom:” ncoo that’s very thoughtful of you Xolani…they are all ready”
Zoli:” thanks mama, we are just glad that you are all okay” I shot her a deathstare
Zoli:” let us get going, we wouldn’t want the kids to be late” she smiled nervously

EUGENE

After the call with Ndivhuwo I called Dendron and informed him about what happened to Tshililo. Him and Sizwe were going to work over night because with the way that things were going…we really had to be on the lookout. After the call with Dendron I went to Andani who was sitting in the lounge all by herself. I wanted to spend some quality time with her and make love before tomorrow; there was no telling what will happen. I was worried about Tshililo though but Ndivhu was good so hopefully he was going to work something out
Me:” cupcake” I said that and smiled…she didn’t smile but just looked at me like I did something wrong
Me:” what’s wrong?”
Andi:” do you still love me?” I looked at her with my eyes wide open, how can she look at me like that and then ask something this stupid? Of course I loved her…she knew that I loved her…there was no debate around that
Me:” of course I love you” she got up shaking her head…okay I looked at her carefully and there was something on the way her facial expression was…it scared me
Andi:”I just don’t feel it anymore” she said that in a very calm voice. I quickly went to her and turned her around so that she may look at me
Me:” look at me…look at me right here in my eyes cupcake, this is me, your Eugene…you know that you are everything to me”
Andi:” a lot has been going on Eugene, it’s like you just want to do what you want the whole time…it doesn’t matter what I say or what I don’t want, you don’t respect what I want” I cupped her face
Me:” babe don’t say that, you know you mean absolutely everything to me Andi please”
Andi:” it’s all about you and the Vhadauss and the guns now…I don’t want to end up like Tshililo, running around with guns and all that crap”
Me:” you won’t end up like her…my love you won’t ever end up like her, I won’t let you” she removed my hands from her face…f*** Noo Andani don’t do that to me
Andi:” and then there is Vhusani, you are going to kill her if she makes a mistake and say something she is not supposed to say. How do you expect me to love you after that? Need I remind you that you killed my son’s father? Now you want to kill my best friend…Eugene how do you expect me to still feel something for you when you act like a monster?” she was shouting…what the hell was she saying? She didn’t feel me anymore? No she couldn’t say something like that…noooo
Andi:” I just c-“
Me:” stop…cupcake shhhhhh! Don’t say no more please cupcake” I said that and pulled her to me for a tight hug…I couldn’t listen to whatever she was about to say
Andi:” Eugene I am really tire-“
Me:” shhhh” I covered her mouth with my hand after breaking the embrace…I looked deep in her eyes…she removed my hand from her mouth
Andi:” if you hurt my friend I will walk away Eugene, I am not lying to you. Vhusani has been nothing but good to me and I won’t let you d-“
Me:” okay okay okay I won’t hurt her I promise” I couldn’t let her leave me, I just knew I couldn’t…God the control she had over me was nauseating at times but I guess it’s what they call love
Andi:” what if she rats you out?”
Me:” I will take the fall if the detectives happen to have more on me…I won’t hurt her”
Andi:” thank you”
Me:” come here” I pulled her to me and hugged her
Me:” you are still that girl for me Andi…the girl I met that day in town while she was trying to look for a house. I love you and I will never stop. Don’t ever scare me like that again Andi, you can’t talk about leaving me…there won’t be an end to this, to us. We are meant to last forever, until one of us dies at least. Now let’s be happy with this baby okay?” I broke the hug and touched her tummy
Me:” how far are we again?” she smiled
Andi:” just three” God we were still far, a lot could still go wrong here
Me:” don’t stress anymore cupcake, it’s not good for the little me” she giggled
Andi:”oww really now?”
Me:” yeah really babe…I want to tell you something and don’t freak out”
Andi:” okay”
Me:” the Vhadaus are in danger so tomorrow morning I will be helping them out so you will have to spend the day at the basement” she opened her eyes wide open
Me:” in my business house…no one can find you there. You’ll be safe and maybe I can get someone to watch you”
“ I can watch her” I turned around and found Lusani standing at the door…okay I wasn’t angry to see him…I was happy but I didn’t show it…I just kept my straight face
Me:” you’re back” God I was happy to see him but I still kept my straight face
Lusani:” with everything that’s going on I figured I might help”
Me:” how did you know about everything that’s going on?”
Lusani:” I asked some team members” I nodded
Me:” and my keys? How did you get in here?”
Lusani:” Dendron…don’t blame him please I forced him to give me the keys so if anyone is to blame for that it sh-“
Me:” stop…you’ll watch her tomorrow, I trust you” I said the words and realised I really meant them…Lusani smiled
Me:” now if you don’t mind…I need some moment with my woman”
Lusani:” sure” he walked out of the house. Andani looked at me
Andani:” I don’t want you to do this but the Vhadaus were there for you when you needed them so I guess this should be done”
Me:” it should”

TSHILILO

So i was blind folded and then taken to a house which I didn’t know the location off. By the time the blind fold was removed I was in an empty room. They handcuffed my hands and my feet to a chair. They didn’t tape my mouth and I guess that’s because the room was either sound proof or we were in the middle of nowhere. I had no strength to talk so I just looked around the room noticing the four guys that drove with me. They all stood in the room as if watching over me. I was tied to a damn chair for fuck’s safe…how in a world did they think I was going to escape? These niggas were treating me like some big bad criminal
Me:” who is your boss?” I asked calmly. They both didn’t look at me and pretended like they didn’t hear a word I said
Me:” who asked you to bring me here?” I shouted…they still went quiet
Me:” so ya’ll can’t talk now? Really?” they didn’t budge. I gave up and just sat and did nothing. I don’t know how long we stayed in silence but it was a long time…finally the guys left and I stayed in the room the whole night.

The following morning my feet and my hands were tired and painful from being tied down. I kept hoping that Thembu, Xolani and Ndivhuwo will be ganging up with Eugene to try and free me. I trusted Ndivhuwo to find me so I wasn’t really scared. Finally someone tried opening the door and then finally opening it. More guys walked in with two people who were blindfolded and handcuffed. I looked at them and my face fell…I was so disappointed and that’s when I started to panic. They brought in two chairs and sat each of the guys on the chair…they tied them up to the chairs and then removed their blind folds. i had hope inside of me….i hoped that they’ll do something to save the family but seeing both of them here broke me completely, it was over. Only Xolani was out there and we had a whole soccer team of the Vhadau family needing protection.
Ndiv:” Tshililo?”
Thembu:” nana?”
Me:” what are you guys doing here? How could you let yourselves get caught huh? You should have all believed me…is anyone even safe at home?” I said angrily and tried to jump off the chair to them
Thembu:” I know baby and I am sorry”
Ndiv:” did they hurt you?”
Me:” does it matter?”
Thembu:” it does matter…so you slept here? because we slept in separate rooms as well” I shook my head and looked away…I hated them so much, the whole family was going to die simply because they couldn’t trust me when I desperately wanted them to. Kate walked inside the room
Kate:” hi family” she smiled
Ndiv:” why are you doing this?” she smiled
Kate:” because that’s what families do for each other. You thought you were the only family capable of revenge and terrorising people? Well you’re not alone”
Thembu:” just go ahead and kill us then” she laughed
Kate:”kill you? What’s the fun in that? After the pain you’ve caused my family you deserve something painful too”
Ndiv:” and what’s that?”
Kate:” Mrs Mudau over here is going to kill one of you and save the other” I felt my heart  aching at the mention of that…nooooo
Thembu:”what?”
Ndiv:” no ways”
Kate:” yeah she is going to kill one of you and save one” I looked at Kate
Me:” Kate don’t do this” I hissed
Kate:” you’re going to do it…who do we kill and who do we save?”
Me:” I can’t” I said shaking my head. She walked over to me
Kate:” you think this is a joke neh? You think I am playing? Tell me which one of them to kill or I will kill TJ”
Me:” ow  noo…no no no Kate not my son please” I said crying…how did she know about my son
Ndiv:” are you insane!”
Thembu:” that’s my son you b***!” Ndivhuwo and Thembu were jumping off their chairs
Kate:” so…tell me…who are we killing and who are we saving?” I looked at them and just sobbed. They were all giving me pleading looks. God how do I do this? I loved them both, I really loved them both, I couldn’t possibly choose
Kate:” this is very simple…whoever you don’t choose won’t have the time to make you feel guilty about killing him because he will be dead and won’t be around so you need to be honest here Tshilio. Who can’t you live without between the two? This is about you darling, it’s really not about who did what and who you think you owe something to because once someone die then they won’t come back and question you for killing them…so tell me, who should we kill?”
Me:” but Kate why are you doing this to me? I wasn’t even around when Svig and Diesel got killed, I was in Kenya” I sobbed
Kate:” this is not about you sweety…it’s about them. One of them is obviously going to die that’s punishment enough and another one will get a punishment worse than death…the one you choose to save will live with the guilt of knowing that he is the reason that the other brother is dead…he’ll live every day knowing that he is responsible for killing his brother and he will also live to see you in pain for as long as the pain lasts. I know how these boys loves you and watching you in pain will kill them. I know about your experience in Kenya so I will get all these man to rape you as they watch Tshili…whoever dies won’t live long to feel the pain of seeing you being raped again and again but whoever you choose will live with that memory for the rest of his life. Now choose….you choose who we are saving and then all these guys sleep with you as they watch and then  you shoot one of the brothers because if you don’t I will kill little TJ…I have him under my surveillance, the whole family infact” God I sobbed...i thought about my babies and my heart hurt so much
Thembu:” no Kate no please, don’t do that to her”
Ndiv:” you can’t hurt her like that Kate…just kill me please Katherine, or make me your servant, I promise to work for you and do whatever the hell you want me to do…I can give you everything you want just don’t hurt her, she…it will kill her”
Kate:” that reaction right there is the reason why we will do all this” I looked at her and just sobbed, I didn’t even know what to do. I looked at Thembu and Ndivhuwo and didn’t know which one of them will take care of me better…I needed the one that will help me pull through the ordeal of being repeatedly raped by all these man…the one that will protect the family and put the family first, the one I know I love. My problem was that I loved them both and they were both capable
Me:” just kill me instead…having me dead will be punishment worse than what you’ve planned for them…just kill me” I cried even harder. I couldn’t choose, I’d rather die than kill one of these two, I couldn’t do it
Kate:” she thinks we are playing” she took out her phone and dialled her number
Me:” Kate please I am begging you”
Kate:” so you’re still watching them? Is Xolani still in the house with the kids? When the kids leave the house make sure that you follow the car they will use to go to school and cause an accident…if that little TJ don’t die then finish him o-“
Me:” stop stop stop please Kate stop…kill him…just …I will kill him…just don’t kill my baby” I screamed…I said that with a stab in my heart…I can’t even explain the kind of pain I was feeling…I could physically feel my heart breaking
Kate:” oww put that plan on hold…don’t do anything until I tell you so” she hung up
Kate:” who are we killing?” I looked at her with no strength left in me anymore…Thembu and Ndivhuwo looked at me
Me:” him…I will kill him…I am so sorry” I said in between the sobs…I apologised while looking at him
Kate:” I want to hear you say his name so that we may be sure…who are you killing Tshililo?”
Me:” I am so sorry, I just don’t have a choice”I swallowed and close my eyes as tears fall…I opened my mouth to say his name…I didn’t want to see his face anymore, I couldn’t take it…I breathed before saying his name

Chapter 30

Kate:” the name sweety”
Me:” Ndivhuwo…we’re gonna have to kill Ndivhuwo” I opened my eyes and looked at Thembu and Ndivhuwo…Thembuluwo didn’t seem relieved at all…he seemed shocked…as for Ndivhuwo…well he was totally enraged, I could see it
Me:” I am so sorry Ndivhuwo, I had to choose and you know that Thembu is my husband, he is TJs father…I just…I can’t let him die” Kate looked at me and smiled
Kate:” oww my dearest Ndivhu, so you don’t mean that much to her I guess” Ndivhuwo just looked at me and said nothing. This was going to haunt me for the rest of my life
Kate:” now that she has finally chosen her guy…gentleman…untie her…she is all yours” I closed my eyes and braced myself for what was to come and that’s when I heard gun shots outside. I opened my eyes and everyone was as shocked as I was
Kate:” Georgy what the hell is that?” she said looking at one of the guys
Georgy:” let me go check” he went to the door and opened and he was pushed back inside the room and he fell. Everyone got their guns ready pointing at the door and that’s when the people outside threw something inside the room that caused the white smoke and caused the rest of us to cough and that’s when I heard gun shots without actually seeing what was going on. By the time the smoke ended I saw Eugene standing in the middle of the room with few guys that I have never seen before. There were about three people on the floor, it was Kate’s guys…where the hell was she?
Gee:” untie them…we need to leave now…we don’t know how many they are out there because if they deploy their army here we will be trapped” I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Eugene and his guys…I actually cried tears of joy. They untie us and we both ran out of the room…no one was really injured amongst us…Thembuluwo held my hand as we ran outside. The house seemed big and fancy
Ndiv:” where is Kate? Did you manage to catch her?” Ndivhuwo asked as we walked out of the house
Eugene:” my first priority was freeing you guys and I think she saw the danger and she ran…we got out of the house and damn…we were in the middle of nowhere. One car was driving off when we got out and another was about to when Eugene and his guys started shooting at its tyres and then shoot everyone who was in the van. Ndivhuwo ran to the car to check if Kate was in there
Ndiv:” dammit she is gone”
Thembu:” we will find her”
Ndiv:” we have to” okay his crazy self was finally activated…there was no more reasoning with him now. Some of Gee’s guys signalled for us to go to one of the two white vans that were parked outside…it must have been Eugene’s vans. Thembu held me tight and kissed my forehead
Thembu:” I am so sorry for not believing you” I looked at him and then away
Me:” I actually hate you right now”
Thembu:” I deserve it” I looked at Ndivhuwo who had his ‘game on’ face
Ndiv:” I have to find that little Kate and I am going to kill her”
Me:” Ndivhuwo, about what happened ins-“
Ndiv:” stop” he said that not looking at me
Ndiv:” I am dead to you so stop pretending” okay I wasn’t about to do this here with him and Thembu around so I let him be. Hopefully Thembu wasn’t going to give me any crap because what happened inside only proved how much he meant to me and finally he didn’t really have to worry about me and Ndivhuwo. Eugene came to us
Gee:” let’s get on this one” we all got in at the back of the van and the other guys got in on the other one. It was just me, Ndivhuwo, Eugene and Thembu sitting at the back
Ndiv:” I give credit where its due bruh…I once underestimated you…thank you…you’re good” Eugene smiled
Gee:” we have each other’s back, I am just glad I managed to save you guys” the Van started driving
Thembu:” how did you know that we were here?”
Eugene:” well, last night I was tryna have some time with my woman when Dendron called me and told me what he has found…I don’t know how those boys work their magic but just like you Ndiv…they are computer geeks so he and Sizwe found out where Kate was and all I had to do was follow her without her noticing…that’s all…I was behind her this morning” we all breathed
Thembu:” thanks bruh”
Ndiv:” all that’s left now is to skin that girl alive for this and then deal with Jug and Daddy”
Thembu:” I have to drive home…we have to make sure that the family is safe…Xolani is alone up there”
Ndiv:” yeah you must keep the kids safe”
Gee:” I will work with Ndiv…we might have a little problem though”
Me:” what?”
Gee:” Jug and Daddy are not in the country meaning that they are letting this girl do all the dirty work…killing this girl only solve the short term problem we are facing”
Thembu:” we can do what you did…go to their country”
Ndiv:” nahh they are not stupid…if we survive this then they’ll be expecting us to retaliate” I shook my head realising that this was still far away from being over
Me:” I will go home with Thembu, I will sleep better knowing that my kids are with me” Thembu pulled me to him and I let him
Me:”I am still angry though” I whispered to him
Thembu:” I know” I stole a look at Ndivhuwo and God my eyes met his and he was wrathful.
Me:” where were we? I mean we were blindfolded when we were brought in here and now this van has no windows”
Eugene:” somewhere close to Nature’s Valley” oww so we were just about an hour from George. So we all went silent as the car drove. We heard it getting out of the gravel road and to the tar road. Everything seemed fine until we heard the Van making a sound as if it was trying to swerve and we all fell to one side
Gee:” the f***!” we were still wondering what’s going on when the driver accelerated and we felt the Van flying off. We kept falling on one side…I guess that’s when it was trying to overtake. The worst part of it all was that we couldn’t really see what was going on outside because it was one of those vans that had no windows. Eugene took out his phone and called someone
Gee:” what’s happening there….huh…f*** you must keep it together bruh…sure”
Ndiv:” and?”
Gee:” two cars are following us…they are trying to cause an accident”
Thembu:” they don’t seem to g-“
he couldn’t finish talking because before we could understand what was going on we all flew up to the roof and then back down and then up again and down…what was this? What’s going on? After a while it felt like the Van hit the ground meaning that it must have fallen off a bridge…everything went silent from then on.

After sometime I managed to open my eyes and I found Gee and Ndivhuwo sitting over Thembu’s head looking all stressed out. I put my one hand on my head because it was pounding. The Van was damaged and it had holes here and there…I winced as I try to move…God did we just had an accident? Because I felt like I just fell off a tree. I finally took a good look at Thembuluwo and I screamed. I don’t know what happened but what I saw was a thick rusty metal steel that stabbed him from his back and appeared on his stomack…it was bloody and he looked….uhm…he wasn’t moving
Me:” oww my God Thembuluwo…oww Nooo Thembu” I was screaming
Gee:” Tshililo calm down, you gotta calm down okay? He opened the van and called someone
Gee:” hide all the guns somewhere right now…somewhere where the police won’t find them…did you call the paramedics? Someone is badly injured in here” the van was lying on its side
Guy” we called the emergency and Alex is already hiding the guns so we’re good”
Gee:” sure…where is the other van?”
Guy:” I don’t know if it managed to get away…lemme call them” the guy walked away.
I sat with Thembuluwo and held his hand and cried…he was not moving and I feared to shake him because I didn’t want to inflict more pain on him…the metal steel had him pinned to the van so a slight movement could do more damage on him, I was not even sure if he was going to be okay. Ndivhuwo looked at me and then put his hand on Thembu’s neck
Ndiv:” he still have a pulse so you can chill” he said in a voice that only said he was angry…it was just me and him and Thembu, Eugene was outside
Me:” Ndivhuwo grow up” I said with an angry voice
Ndiv:” lemme get out of here…I have plans to put in place and people to kill” he started crawling out and I looked at him in shock
Me:” are you seriously going to leave your brother here?”
Ndiv:” he is not dead so there is no need for me to be worked up…there are people walking around out there and these are the people who are supposed to be dead already…I have to go, just inform me when you get to the hospital and I will come” Ndivhuwo could be heartless at times…Thembu started coughing and opened his eyes and that’s when blood started coming out of his mouth
Me:” Ndivhuwo come back…please look…he…he-“ I couldn’t even finish my sentence. Ndivhuwo turned around and came to him
Ndiv:” Thembu you need to keep strong my man…please Tshililo, TJ and Nnndwakhulu need you” he held his head and looked at me
Thembu:” wh…what…what ha…happened to me?” he started moving his head and his legs…he was panicking…he tried to get up but he obviously couldn’t…Ndivhuwo sat on his legs to stop him from moving and I held his head down
Me:” baby…nana don’t move please you’ll hurt yourself”
Thembu:” Tshii” he said that and tears started coming out of his eyes
Me:” shhhhhhh”’
Thembu:” love you” he whispered and closed his eyes
Me:” Thembu, nana open your eyes baby…you gotta keep your eyes open”
Ndiv:” don’t close them” he opened his eyes weakly
Thembu:” tired” he said in a weak whisper
Me:” I know” I kissed his forehead
Ndiv:” he’ll be fine” I looked at him and nodded.
After some time the paramedics came and took him. They wanted to check us all out but we told them we were fine. So I sat in the same ambulance with Thembu. They didn’t have a choice but to cut the van so that they can take Thembu with the metal steel on him because taking it out of him was going to be dangerous, they needed a Doctor on board in order to do that. I just sat by myself the whole drive. I couldn’t even look at what they were doing to him because I was just too scared. I couldn’t lose him...he looked so lifeless.

We got to the hospital and I ran behind the nurses who had Thembu on a stretcher.
Nurse:” ma’am you gonna have to stay out here…we need to operate on him immediately because this piece of a metal is rusted…here…read and sign this consent form since you are his wife” I took the form and sign without even looking at it. The Doctor took it and walked inside the ICU room Thembu was in. Ndivhuwo walked in and found me pacing in the passage
Ndiv:” Eugene had someone following them so he is gone…he also asked someone to bring us a car for when we leave” I just looked at him and said nothing. He stood against the wall and looked at me. I just looked away and said nothing. We sat there for about an hour without anyone coming to say anything to us and without us saying a word to each other
Ndiv:” I think I am gonna go…you’re gonna be fine mus?”
Me:” so you really don’t care about him?” he looked at me and gave me a fake laugh
Ndiv:” it’s you I don’t care about” he said that and walked away and I followed him outside
Me:” Thembuluwo is fighting for his life and you wanna start doing this?”
Ndiv:” we all know that Thembu is not gonna die…we’ve been through this s*** before and ya’ll been in the ICU room and came out alive so this is no different…he’ll make it because he is strong”
Me:” Ndivhuwo I am sorry, you know I had no choice”
Ndiv:” nah you had a choice...we always have a choice but you just chose him. Do you have any idea how many times I have chosen you? I would have chosen you without even thinking Tshililo but you were ready to kill me and save him. Someone who have repeatedly cheated on you and physically assaulted you at some point…he is not even strong enough to protect you but you chose him. Me on the other side I’ve always loved you, always put you first every time Tshili, even when you don’t deserve it. The only mistake I have made was not believing you two days again and that was understandable…I’ve always put you first and you wanted me to die and you chose him” he looked like he wanted to cry
Me:” Ndivh-“
Ndiv:” do you know what’s really painful? What’s painful Is that all this time I believed that you loved me and that you just couldn’t be with me because you had a history with him and that he is the father of your kid and that the family wouldn’t support us…I thought those were the reasons you chose him but today I learned that…” he wiped off a tear
Me:” Ndivhuwo don’t say it”
Ndiv:” that you chose him because you love him the same way I love you. He makes you stupid and blind and he clouds your judgement…that’s what you make me feel and that’s the same thing he makes you feel”
Me:” Ndivhuwo that’s not true, you know I love you more than words can say but I had to think of my son”
Ndiv:” I am done with you and him and Kate and any woman for that matter…I am f*****g done…all I want now is to kill Kate and take it from there” he said that and tossed me the car keys
Ndiv:” there is a car that Eugene brought us…hope to never see you again” he started walking
Me:” did you call home?” he stopped walking and looked ahead and gave me his back…he took out his phone and called someone
Ndiv:” Xolani how is everything? Xolani? Xolani calm down what happened? oww nooo uhm…ahhh just keep strong…Eugene told me that he sent some guys home to make sure that you are all okay” he hung up and stood there not looking at me for a while. I was afraid to ask what happened because something obviously did happen. He finally turned around and looked at me
Me:” what?” I whispered.
Ndiv:” just go inside and wait on Thembu…I will see you in a few” I walked to him
Me:” Ndivhuwo what happened at home? Please tell me I can take it”
Ndiv:” Xolani took the kids with him and didn’t take them to school but his house so Zoli went back to mom’s house to collect something and…”
Me:” and?”
Ndiv:” she’s gone….mom is no more”
Me:” oww my God noo” I ran back to the building with tears gushing down…I didn’t want to admit that she was gone. I was running past Thembu’s ICU room when I bumped into someone and it was the Doctor that was treating Thembu...are they done with him?
Me:” Doctor?” Ndivhuwo got to us and stood there too
Doc:” uhm”
Ndiv:” uhm what? how is he?” he looked at us and just blinked and then looked away and then back at us…oww God noooo…noooo I can’t do this
Me:” no….no….no” I said shaking my head
Doc:” I am so sorry” and just like that I felt my body giving up on me and I fell
